There’s a power in putting words to something. Once a feeling or idea is clearly articulated, it’s more graspable, manageable. Plus, without the vocabulary, it’s much harder to discuss things, including the things we love. (As far as I’m concerned, talking about fashion or food is nearly, if not just as much fun as wearing/consuming them).
So obviously I was thrilled when I noted A.Word.A.Day’s theme, ‘fabric words used metaphorically,’ a couple of weeks ago. Though they probably won’t help your dissection of that girl’s get-up, why wouldn’t you want to pepper your conversation with allusions to apparel?
