Hopefully this might mitigate the absence of posts since mid-November (!)

Yup, I got married.
[Insert contented sigh here]
What did the bride wear? Her mother’s wedding dress! (With alterations, as you can see.) It’s from 1968, and I have the pictures to prove it:

My mom was (is!) one classy lady, wearing a dress off the cover of Brides. And kudos, Mom, on opting for the velveteen ribbon in ivory instead of pink.
The epitome of covered-up chic:

I, however, chose to show some shoulder, and Christina at Blue made it happen. She’s a mad genius, and her interpersonal style isn’t right for anyone who needs hand-holding. But make no mistake: she’s a genius. (FYI, she opened a new ready-to-wear store on Elizabeth St. just below Houston. It’s gorg.)
As for shoes, I wore flats. I know, I was surprised too, but they worked so perfectly with the dress.

They’re by Lulu Guinness, who doesn’t appear to be making shoes any longer. So very sad!
You know what? I’m anxious to move back into the day-to-day style stuff. Sorry for the truancy, and see you soon.
